Confused And Lost On Compatibility

Nitrom

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased an ASUS motherboard (A7N8X) and along with it two pair of VALUE SELECT SDRAM DDR400 PC3200 CORSAIR (totalling 512 megs).

When I ask the RAM GUY about compatibility it gives me a different type of model for that mobo (the TwinX1024-3200C2 DDR400 PC3200).

Will the Value Selected I purchased works fine with that motherboard? or I have to have the memory that the RAMGUY indicates..... :[pouts:

Thanks for your reply.

Actually the twin pair of memory sticks I have are the CORSAIR VALUE SELECT

512MBKIT400C3 but I have no idea about their latency....how do I find that data?...the vendor won't show it and the documentation it comes with is none existant ever since it is OEM.

We do not guarantee the timings with Value Select to keep costs down. But a C3 module would be either Cass 3-3-3-8 or 3-4-4-8, but sometimes we may substitute a faster part if we run short, so they can be Cass 2.5-3-3-8 as well. I would run CPU-Z on them and see what’s set in the SPD!
