Using Type 3 corsair psu cables on the Type 4 RM750x

Hi,

 

I read that type 3 24 pin atx cables can be used on the rm750x PSU.

 

I tried and it works (have to remove the clip on the type 3 cable and leave the 4 left most 24pin atx slots on the psu empty). Just curious is there any long term implication of this?

 

I understand that it might increase ripple effect up to a max of 25 mv on the 12v rail just like the HXi series from a corsair article, any one can confirm?

 

Do let me know if what you are suggesting is your opinion (not sure) or something that you know for certain.
