dashard
While trying to fit a GA-Z170X-GAMING 3-EU ATX motherboard into this case I encounter the following problem. The three stand offs which are nearest the front of the case (all round not hexagon) and appear to be irremovable. These stand offs are not required for my motherboard. Unfortunately all three touch the edge of the board. I am concerned they will cause a short circuit. Does any one have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem? Many thanks
Toasted
You can add a layer of electrical tape over the standoffs.
dashard
Thanks for your suggestion Toasted prefer to send the case back to be honest. Received the following reply from Corsair “Unfortunately these standoffs cannot be removed. However, you are not risking a short circuit for your system. “ No mention of insulating the standoffs which I cannot understand?
Toasted
There is no risk of a short circuit as the inside of case is painted. If it was bare e.g. not painted, then there will be a risk of a short circuit. Adding a layer of tape over the standoffs is just adding an extra layer of protection to prevent possible shorts. E.g. paint that has been chipped, etc But the chances of something like this happening is quite low.
