mathewjknott
Hi guys I'm thinking of getting a commander mini but wanted to check a few things before i did. When i go to the store to purchase the commander mini, there is also a Corsair Link Lighting Node. Is this needed if i wanted to put LED's in my PC or can i connect them directly to the commander mini's LED socket? Can i use any 4 pin LED lights with the commander mini/link lighting node or does it have to be the Corsair Link RGB LED Lighting Kit? Does the commander mini work with non PWM (3 pin) fans? If so will it work as well or are PWM (4 pin) fans recommend? The commander mini requires connection to a on board USB header. Does it use 1 or both of the channels? I have a H100i v2 that uses only half of the USB header so would be good if i could connect them both to the same header (1 channel each) rather then taking up another header only to use half again. What are the digital connection ports for? My H100i v2 does not have any, will this be a problem? thanks :)
red-ray
The Lighting Node is no longer available so your only real option is to connect any LEDs via the CL Mini. Corsair only support Corsair LEDs, but in truth any 12 volt common anode LEDs can be used, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131660. The total current should be <= 2.0 Amps. 3-pin fans are supported, but as always 4-pin PWM fans will work better than 3-pin. The CL Mini uses one USB port so can share a USB header, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=759585. These can be used to connect such as the H100i, Lighting Node and i PSUs (AX860i but not AX860). Not using them will be fine.

snapper69
I think I noticed that Scan had a Corsair section in their Black Friday section and Amazon.co.uk have some white ML120 fans coming up at 6 pm.
mathewjknott
Are their any RGB fans that commander mini can control? Before i buy anything lighting related i want to make sure i can do as planned as last thing i want to do is buy some red led fans and then change my mind on what colour my case is. Ill get RBG led lights just not sure if there are any fans that are compatible
red-ray
The Corsair RGB LED fans are 5 rather than 12 volts, so you can't use those, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162626 + http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=161841. They are also 3-pin voltage rather than 4-pin PWM which is rather poor. Basically you need to find some +12 volt common anode RGB fans, but I don't know or any. You could try doing https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=%2B12+volt+comon+anode+rgb+led+fan to try and find some.
