advancedsi
I've got a set of two 512mb PC3200 chips here, one of which has gone bad. The system began to lock up, crash, etc a short while back. I checked everything else out since I have yet to have a bad Corsair module, but to my dismay it didn't help. After running Memtest 86+ I found several errors (repeatable) with one of the modules. After removing it and running on the single DIMM, the system runs fine. (Albeit a bit slower). I put the suspect chip in another system and ran it, and sure enough, it crashed as well. It was purchased nearly 2 years ago so I doubt the seller (NewEgg) will want to RMA it. In addition, it was purchased as a TwinX set, and I'd VERY much prefer not to have to return both, since I will be without my system that entire time. I know I might not get back a perfectly matched set but I can live with that more than I can having no working system. If I could get a heads up on this so I can begin to process an RMA it would be appreciated. I have done this kind of work for almost 10 years so I am absolutely certain it is a single defective module. Thanks again for your help.

In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
