ceedy
Hi, Had a single Corsair VS256MB266 running Win ME ok in my Syntax Sv266A MB with an Athlon 2200 for over year now. The whole system was getting a bit flaky recently, and I put it down to the vast amount of junk ( useful files ??) on the system. So a clear out/re install was in order.. also used this as time to go WinXP Loadsof probs during Xp setup, multiple lockups, blue screens etc..So tested the system with some diagnostics proggies , and only the ram failed.Tried same with lots of other ram testers from the web and all show the memory as faulty. So reckon it probably is. Need info on any other tests or settings I could try , or return it under warranty, ( 14 months old)thanks for any help Chris
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2005 Chris,Please test the module with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you find the module is indeed failing, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! ceedy
Thanks for replying at blinding speed ( did'nt have time finish my coffee). Already done this , memtest was one of the proggys I used for testing.memtest actually condemns the dimm the most showing errors at every address location. Will request an RMA.. Do I return it to a UK address ? or the Fremont address ? Thanks Chris
