Corsair 88R / 100R Cooling

Hello guys (and girls)! :):

So, i am planning a new build for my 20 year old brother.

Some parts are still under discussion but some other are pretty much already selected.

For the case and the cooling, i am thinking the Corsair 88R or the 100R and Corsair H100i v2 respectively.

I do have a simple question though: Does H100i fit in the top of 88R or 100R and not in the front?

Neither. You might want a different case or a different AIO cooler.

You might want to see if you really need a high-end CPU cooler, by the way. What's the CPU in said build? Will it be overclocked? How much?

First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer.

Here are the selected parts so far:

Case: Corsair 88R

CPU: Intel Core i5 6500

M/B: ASUS Z170M Plus

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4-2400MHz

Cooler: Corsair H100i v2

VGA: MSI GTX960 4GB - still under consideration

PSU: Corsair RMx650

SSD: Intel 535 Series 240GB

HDD: WD Red 1TB

DVD: LG GH24NSD1

Poweρ Strip: APC PM5

LED: NZXT LED20 24X WHITE LED SLEEVED 2M

If you really want an AIO liquid cooler, a H60 should be more than enough for your needs. If you want performance similar to the H100i v2 (that won't fit), well, perhaps the H80i v2 can work.

Or get a better case if you still want a 240mm+ radiator.

(And a note on the video card: why not a GTX 1060?)

Based on this, i think i am fine.

I have just bought the H100i v2, CPU, PSU, Led, DVD and a case fan.

Would you rather go for an Evo 850 instead of an Intel?

Refined specs below.

Case: Corsair 100R

CPU: Intel Core i5 6500

M/B: Gigabyte Z170X-UD3

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4-2400MHz

Cooler: Corsair H100i v2

VGA: Asus GTX1060 Turbo 6GB - still under consideration

PSU: Corsair RMx650

SSD: Intel 535 Series 240GB / Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

HDD: WD Red 1TB

DVD: LG GH24NSD1

Poweρ Strip: APC PM5

LED: NZXT LED20 24X WHITE LED SLEEVED 2M
