TwinX-3200C2PT 1GB failing memtest PLZ HLP

I've been trying to locate the source of my problem in my pc for some time now. Normal windows applicaitions run without any problems, but when i play a game or something that actually taxes my pc (FarCry, Doom3, UT2004) it plays the game anywhere from 5-20 mins then either reboots the pc or exits to windows.

The windows error I get is:

Error Message: STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x00000000, 0xb2000000, 0x00020151)

Here are my PC specs:

A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo

XP 2600+ (266fsb)

X800 Pro

Antec Truepower 350W

TwinX-3200C2PT 1GB 2.5-3-3-6 (advertised latency for AMD on website)

I've been monitoring my temperatures closely and I have 47C CPU / 28C Case at idle, 53C / 30C full load. This seems to be reasonable.

I ran CPU stability test and it ran 20 hours with no errors.

I ran Prime95 torture test a few times. with the ram at 2.7V 2.5-3-3-6 it failed at 2.5 hrs. with the ram at 2.6 2.5-3-3-6 it failed at 22 hours.

I ran memtest-86 with both sticks in (slots 2-3, 1 empty) it passed through 9 passes, however windows still gives the error above 5-20 mins into UT2004.

I changed the two sticks to slots 1-3, 2 empty and ran UT2004 and again 5-20 mins and i got kicked out.

I ran memtest-86 with stick 1 in slot (1) 2.7V 2.5-3-3-6 and got the following errors:

I ran memtest-86 with stick 2 in slot(1) 2.7V 2.5-3-3-6 ang got the following errors:

First thing, AMD 2600+ would be a 333FSB CPU unless you are using a 2600+ Mobil CPU. In addition with AMD you will want to set the memory Frequency to 100% as well. You might try these settings and then test the system with the modules installed in slots 2-3.

CPU Freq: 166 MHz

CPU Multiplier: 11.5

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 166MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

My understanding is there are 3 different 2600+ chips

333FSB Barton 1917mhz 11.5 x 166mhz

333FSB TBred 2083mhz 12.5 x 166mhz

266FSB Tbred 2133mhz 16.0 x 133mhz <=== i have this one

I will try bumping it up to 166 in the bios and let you know.

So I changed it to the 166 x 11.5, ram at 100%, 2.7 volts... same at your recommendation.

I just played UT2004 for 1.5 - 2 hrs, no lockups or anything.

Thanks for the help!!

As far as I know it all seems fixed.
