cardzz
I own a set of TwinX 3200LLPT 2-3-2-6-1T that has recently caused some problems. A couple of random reboots and lock-ups that I have spent the better part of a week trying to find the cause. A couple of forums including corair's recommend running memtest86. After 1 pass it generated 1 error, so I let it run overnight. After 24 passes it still generated 1 error. I assume ANY error is bad, so what to do now?? The errors follow: Test:6 (both) Pass:1 & 15 Failing address: 0001B9AE368-441.8 MB (both) Good: 01000000 & 10000000 Bad: 01000002 & 10000002 ERR-Bits: 00000002 & 000000 Count: 1 & 2 1 I had considered trying to isolate the individual sticks to find the bad one, but since they are a matched set aren't they both covered?? Please advise me as to what to do now. Thanks, cardzz

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2005 Please try and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts with the modules installed in slots 1-2 and then load setup defaults and exit saving changes and test the system with http://www.memtest.org and if you get errors please test them one module at a time and lets make sure one is not failing. cardzz
Please try and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts with the modules installed in slots 1-2 and then load setup defaults and exit saving changes and test the system with http://www.memtest.org and if you get errors please test them one module at a time and lets make sure one is not failing. Ok...Did that, ran 33 passes and got 5 errors. Tried testing each stick alone and got 0 errors. Same setup (default), put the modules in slot 1 for testing. Seems kinda odd that they test good alone, but bad together. Hmmm What next ram guy?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2005 We can try replacing the modules if you want to try that, what you have posted would suggest some other problem. Can you maybe test your system with another PSU? Please follow the directions under "I think I have a bad module" under this forum or if you have trouble, Please send us a email with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Rma@corsairmemory.com. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the rma please email the same to warranty@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it. Thanks, I have a new 520W OCZ on order from newegg as we speak. I will try that first. Can I still get it replaced if that doesn't work? Thanks again, cardzz
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 5, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 5, 2005 Yes you can get it replaced, that is not a problem. Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed on your MB and that you have the modules installed on either slots 1&2 or 3&4; load optimized or default settings, and set the following BIOS settings; DRAM Configuration : Max Memclock: Limit or 200 1T/2T Memory Timing : 1T CAS# latency (Tlc): 2 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd): 3 Min RAS# active time (Tras): 6 Row precharge Time (Trp): 2 High Performance Mode : Manual Aggressive timing : DISABLED Dynamic Overclocking: DISABLED Spread Spectrum : Enabled HT Frequency : 5x Cool’n’Quiet: Enable Adjust CPU Rotation: Startup Adjust CPU FSB Frequency: 200 Adjust AGP Frequency: 66 Adjust CPU VID 1.500v CPU Voltage: By CPU VID Memory Voltage : 2.75 AGP Voltage: 1.50V *1.6V if you have 9200 or 9600 ATI or 5200 or 5700 Nvidia card. All other settings should be left to MB default settings. Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
