It just died in my arms tonight..

Recommended Posts

I bought my wife an Athlon 64 computer system about 3 months ago with a K8T Neo MoBo, Athlon 64 3000, 1Gb of RAM (2x512 - Corsair VS512MB400), Windows XP Home, and it worked beautifully, then a couple of weeks ago it started acting flaky (not booting all of the time, strange windows errors, etc...) and finally wouldn't boot at all. I finally noticed a weird count on the RAM test at the beginning of POST. I yanked the RAM one piece at a time and right after pulling the first one the POST RAM count read out correctly at 512Mb for the remaining module. I then removed the good one and replaced it with the other one in the same slot and nada. The system wouldn't boot. Swapped them out again again just to make sure and got the same results. I also tried swapping the slots they were originally in and the system would not boot, so now she just runs it at half capacity with the good 512mb in it. Any advice? RMA?
