moriarty144
I have a compaq presario 6000 desktop pc. I had a stick of 512 pc 2700 ram in addition to the the stick of 256 that came with the computer. It worked perfectly for about 4 or 5 months. Then one day, I booted my computer and it said the NTFS32.sys file was corrupt or missing. After using the system restore function a few times, then formatting a few times, I gave up and took it to a computer technician. After he removed the stick of 512, the computer worked again and never gave me the error again. I think this means I have a bad stick of ram. What do you think? kec789
Maybe bad stick of ram AND a, errr, finicky computer. Presarios are notorious for having uber problems....Sucks you had to reformat and such only to find out you had a faulty stick....IF that's really the casue. Take one stick out and run the computer. If all is ok, you know that stick is good. Take it out and put the other one back in. Repeat process. THis way you can see if one is bad or not. My guess is that you didn't match the ram, so you are using 2 different brands??? Ram should be of the same make and model when combining sticks. Unmatched pairs don't play nice together most of the time.....
