Burning Smell from Brand New h110i GT

Hey guys so when i was putting together my new pc upgrades (psu, cooler) i attached everything up and... no go =/. After a few seconds i got nothing and i noticed a burning smell so i immediately unplugged everything and began the painstaking trial and error troubleshooting. This ended up with my MOBO getting RMA'd and i have to send that back today ugh. To my original point, the burning smell is coming from the Corsair H110i GT pump, i rigged everything through my psu to see if there was power and sure enough that was the smell. My question is, is that normal for a brand new cooler? Or did it fry my mobo and i should probably rma it?

It will be best to get it replaced.

Contact your retailer and ask if they can replace the cooler for you. If not, request an RMA to replace it via Corsair. If the cooler is less than 30 days old, you may be eligible for a prepaid shipping label but you will need to ask Corsair about it.
