tgonzo5
I have a new system w/MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Motherboard. System would not post using Corsair TWINX2048RE-3200 2GB Kit(DDR400 XMS3200 ECC Registered). I tried many combinations of one or both modules in slot 1 only, 3 only, and 1&2. System works fine with pair of Kingston 512MB PC3200 modules in slots 1&2. Is there a compatibility problem with the CORSAIR memory or do I need to modify the BIOS setings? Gorganzola
The reason it doesn't work is because you bought the wrong memory for the board. What you have is Registered ECC memory and that motherboard doesn't support registered ECC memory. The socket 940 motherboards do but not the socket 939. Please refer to the Corsair recommended memory modules for that motherboard: http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/memorysearch.aspx?modelid=1012 and the MSI website for that board for further information what it supports: http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/memorysearch.aspx?modelid=1012
