Kbombers45
I just did memtest on my ram for 20 min each . the 1st stick were RAM:200Mhz (DDR 400) / cas: 2.5-3-3-8 / single channel & the 2nd stick set. were:200Mhz (DDR 400) / cas: 3-3-3-8 / single channel i found no errors i put both sticks of ram in the 3rd slot b/c that was the only way my computer would boot i tested both sticks at 2.7 volts. I don't know what could poissibly be the problem as far as the ram not booting up in dual channel i have no idea b/c everything on my MB is working fine. i have talked to asus like a million times also MY Computer: AMD athlon 64 3200+ (socket 939) SATA HDD Asus A8V Deluxe i am going to prob need some real specific timing values. Kbombers45
i am an hour and 30 min in to testing one stick of ram so far no errors i have a new bios chip in the mail for my MB we will see what memtest results keep in touch. i might need to send my ram in for u to clock it with the other stick i bought them seperate but the same type of ram. i didn't realize when i bought them that i would run into thos problem down the road not buying the sticks together. Gorganzola
Unfortunately it looks like you will have to either settle for single channel mode or return the one stick and/or the other if possible, or sell them and pickup a dual channel memory kit. If you post the sticker information on both the memory modules you have it's easier to determine the differences, but by the looks of your testing it is enough to stop dual channel from working. Kbombers45
i found 20 errors which would probably cause the memory to fail it works fine in my hp it was on test
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 5, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 5, 2005 I am sorry but with this platform you would need to use 2 modules that are exactly matched both in part# and revision.
Kbombers45
now would it be possible for me to send u my ram and have it re clocked or reset the clocking values with memtest like one stick is cas 2.5-3-3-8 amd the other is cas 3-3-3-8 well i saw the option to reset the memory or would this be too risky and would the ram be to unstable for this action. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2005 No I am sorry, the best I can offer would be to rma the pair, but you would need to make that request in your RMA request email to Customer Service.
