zehnded
I purchased a CMX256A-3500C2PT when I put my system together 2 years ago. It is used in an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard running at 266 mHz front side bus. I added a new CMX3200C2PT to up the system memory to 512M. Yesterday upon booting I got a memory test error and assumed it was the new module. Removed the new one and error persisted. Replaced the older module in Slot 1 with the new 3200 and the machine booted. Put the 3500 module back in this time into slot 3 and the memory test failed again. I would like an RMA for the 3500 module
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 30, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 30, 2004 Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
zehnded
Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Current settings are SDRAM Active Precharge Delay - 6 SDRAM RAS to CAS - 2 SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay - 2 SDRAM CAS Latency - 3T Changed to the above to make sure stick was bad I've run agressive mode for most of the systems life. I've run optimal settings also after having a problem the 3200 stick runs at all timings but will give an occasional memory error during boot but booting continues during boot but no no boot loike with the 3500 stick 133 front side bus (266) AMD XP 2000+ CPU -daz
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2005 XMS3500C2 will not support Cass 3 Please try these settings: Dim Voltage: 2.7 Volts Current settings are SDRAM Active Precharge Delay - 6 SDRAM RAS to CAS - 3 SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay - 3 SDRAM CAS Latency - 2T And with this platform you can only run one module at DDR400 with the CPU running at 133 FSB other wise you would need to set the memroy at DDR333.
