jaguaraja
Hey RAM guy, I'm getting some bad luck here. I installed the replacement RAM and everything looked good. Then the system crashed while I was gaming and windows gave me a memory error. I ran memtest to look for errors and came up with 804 errors. I think I need a replacement again. here's my specs. athlon 64 3500 K8N Neo2 Platinum wd raptor 74gb twinx1024-3200xl geforce 6800 gt zalman power supply and a ups for surge protection and battery backup nothing is overclocked (stock speeds only) dvd-rw and dvd/cd-rw combo

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 30, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 30, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and the modules should be in slots 1-2 and then load setup/optimized defaults and then set Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts should be all you need to do, but if the system is still not stabke I would try and set the Rass to Cass to "3" and see what happens. jaguaraja
Already did that based on your suggestions from last time. Same problems. Here's a test I did. I took the ram I have from another system, 2 sticks of crucial 256mb @ 266mhz and put it into my system. I ran memtest and had no problems at all! phew! For a second there I was thinking that my system could be frying the ram. (Is that even possible?) Thanks RAM GUY
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 30, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 30, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed on your MB and set the following BIOS settings; DRAM Configuration : Max Memclock: Limit or 200 1T/2T Memory Timing : 1T CAS# latency (Tlc): 2 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd): 3 Min RAS# active time (Tras): 5 Row precharge Time (Trp): 2 High Performance Mode : Manual Aggressive timing : DISABLED Dynamic Overclocking: DISABLED Spread Spectrum : Enabled HT Frequency : 5x Cool’n’Quiet: Enable Adjust CPU Rotation: Startup Adjust CPU FSB Frequency: 200 Adjust AGP Frequency: 66 Adjust CPU VID 1.500v CPU Voltage: By CPU VID Memory Voltage : 2.75 AGP Voltage: 1.50V *1.6V if you have 9200 or 9600 ATI or 5200 or 5700 Nvidia card. All other settings should be left to MB default settings. Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
