icelazer
I purchased this 256 mb stick in october 2001 and it was working great until just a couple days ago. I unhooked the computer and sat it on the floor to work on another one for about 3 days. After hooking it back up, the system wouldn't display video but just emit long repeating beeps. It is a Shuttle AK31 motherboard, and it was suggested to me that this be a ram problem. I first tried the ram in slot 1 instead of the slot 0 it was in to no avail. I then placed a spare stick in slot 0 I had on hand and it worked properly and booted up immediatley. It is now running properly with the replacement stick. To confirm the diagnosis, I took out the replacement stick and inserted the corsair stick and the problem repeated itself.
