mattrowe
Hi Guys, This is my first post so appologies if its in the wrong forum. I currently have an Asus A7N8X M/B with an AMD Athlon 2500+. I installed Corsair TWINX512-3200LL (2 matched CMX256A-3200LL DDR-DIMMs 400 Mhz, CL2, 184 Pin). I now want to buy a 512MB DIMM (my motherboard only has 3 184 pin DIMM slots) to upgrade my RAM to 1GB. Can i do this? And if so which RAM would you recommend i get? I've seen Corsair sell 512MB DDR XMS3200C2 Pro CAS2 (MY-029-CS) which looks very similar but i would like some advice before i spend my money. Thanks for any help, its much appreciated. CMC_SAVAGE
You would need a 512 module of the 3200LL. CMX512-3200LL.
mattrowe
Thanks for the quick reply CMC Savage. Do you have any links to where i can buy the memory? I'm in the UK and can't find anywhere selling 3200LL only CMX3200CM2 Is CM2 the same as LL? Doesn't LL (Low Latency) mean the same as CAS2? I feel out of my depth here
Jabberwok
Basically, C2 = 2-3-3, LL = 2-3-2, XL = 2-2-
Wired
What does C2, LL, PT, R or RE stand for in the part#? Whenever you see the timing #s on Corsair's site, they match up like so: w-x-y-z SDRAM CAS Latency: w SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): x SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): y SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): z Never seen CMX3200CM2 before, probably a typo. The CMX is just the model, CM2 is not a Corsair marking at all. Check here (http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/xms_order.html) for UK resellers.
