Dominator DDR4 3200 only reads 1866 in BIOS. MSI Z170A Krait Gaming. Please let me know if I'm not understanding this number correctly or something is wrong with my very expensive RAM...

Thanks!

Guessing you haven't enabled XMP?

Is it possible you inadvertently set the DRAM frequency to 1866 while in the BIOS? If you plug them in and do nothing, they should default to 2133. However, on my BIOS I have another setting just above for 1866, presumably for under-clocking. Double check the frequency setting and put it on Auto if you plan to use XMP.

As for 3200 not booting on Z170, it may require fine tuning. You may need to start at 2666 and see how it goes.

I enabled XMP and when I restarted it said it didn't work and to press F1 to revert back to original settings.

I'm gonna save you some time here and headache. bottomline your ram XMP profile isn't supported on the motherboard. There's alot of people facing same problems. See the thread below. Seems like a lot of us got suckered into buying this crappy product

This might not be the case here, or I would've linked them this. Please refrain from making assumptions if you're not offering any help.
