charlesnj
Hello folks, I just bought the following parts to upgrade my computer: (1) CPU: AMD 64 bit |3200+ ATHLON 64 (Socket 939) (2) MotherBoard: ASUS A8V Deluxe (Socket 939, CHIPSET: VIA K8T800Pro + VT8237) (3) Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series: (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR400 PC-3200 Dual channel (DDRAM 1GB TWINX1024-3200C2PT COR RT) The problem came up when I install both sticks of RAM one in the blue slot(DIMM_A1) and one in the black slot(DDIM_B1), my system won't post. The computer works if only one DDR DIMM stick is put in the balck slot(DIMM_B1), but nothing works when both are in. No beeps, no signal to monitor, just the fans turn on and the Harddriver get power. Even I download the lastest version of BOIS, flash the BIOS for Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard , it still happen. I learn from a comment form newegg.com that someone solved the probelm through the BIOS setting. But I don't know how to do it. Could you please advise me how to fix the problem? Thank you in advance and happy new year! Charles

charlesnj
Hi RAM Guy, I tested the workaround you mentioned yesterday, unluckily the problem is still out there. I contacted Asus technical support, they gave me the answer below: "You have to contact the memory manufacturer and get cache latency memory timing settings. And manually put the settings into the BIOS." Could you please shed light on this problem? Tnank you, Charles

charlesnj
Hi RAM Guy, I tested the DDR400 RAM one at a time using the memtest86, there is no error for both RAM sticks. I tried many testing parameters posted on this forum, unluckly, it's just won't work for me. Any suggestion? Thank you again, Charles
