k70 RGB - how to make light on when windows lock?

Because CUE goes inactive when that happens and it doesn't send anymore the data through the USB cable to the keyboard. You need to save a profile on the onboard memory of the device (K70 RGB in this case) for the device to show at least some (static) lighting.

Effects and macros will still require CUE active and running in background to work, but at least when it is locked you can have the keyboard light up with a static color.

I have done just that. I have the default colour profile that comes out of the box (like a rotating rainbow effect) saved on device memory. So it wont' run the effect, but it should still light up.
