Azrael69420
I already ordered a gigabyte of corsair 3200xlpro RAM. BUT! i am thinking about upgrading my motherboard (asus p4c800-e deluxe) to a asus 915P chipset mobo(most likely p5gd2 premium). I will be using a Radeon x850 xt pci express video card. What i am asking is HOW the 3200xlpro ram will perform compared to Corsair PC4200 1024MB DDR2 533MHZ. Should i send the xlpro ram back? or will the 3200xlpro not be a choke point on this system? I plan to use a p4 3.2e Ghz 800mhz fsb socket 775 cpu.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 28, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 28, 2004 As long as you get one of the MB's that will support DDR1, you should be fine, and the XL modules would be comparable in performance with the other modules you have asked about to maybe slightly faster. Azrael69420
Ok, but what about the Twin2x1024-5400c4 module? the 3200xlpro wouldnt compare to that right? ALSO! the 5400c4 module and 5400c4pro are pretty much the same right? is the PRO better? I remember you saying that the pro series is for looks and stuff right? Is there a performance difference? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 28, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 28, 2004 Its hard to compare XMS3200XL and DDR2 modules, but I would have to say XMS5400C4 would have the advantage.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 29, 2004 Well I would post your questions over at http://www.houseofmobos.com they will be able to help you with those questions. They really frown on it when I talk about other makers products not related to memory. Sorry!
