Is this noise normal?

Hello,

I purchased last year, a Corsair CX750M, and it has been a great PSU... right up until last week when it started producing a weird sound that I've never heard before.

The sound is difficult to describe, it sounds almost electrical so coil whine possibly? I have recorded it a couple times and have uploaded it to youtube so I can show you what I mean.

I'm not one to complain often, but the sound is rather audible (the sound is louder than what my camera picked up in the video) and has become an annoyance. Up until recently it has been almost silent, so these noises are something new.

PSU was purchased January 2015, so it is still under warranty. Is it worth creating a ticket and asking for an RMA?

Thanks.

I apoligise if I posted this in the wrong area.

Meurock,

Before creating a ticket, I would suggest try using the PSU with another outlet that is not interfered with other electrical items. I would also try using with a surge protector. If this does not resolve your issue feel free to create a ticket to see what we can do for you.

You can submit a ticket for a replacement on our support website at http://corsair.force.com. Please make sure you attach a copy of your receipt to your ticket so that we may verify and honor the warranty. Our Tech Support will then review your ticket and give you feedbacks within 1-2 business days.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, different outlets don't make a difference. The noise is still there, so I'll create a ticket and see what happens from there.

Receipt, that might be an issue as I cannot find it. However looking at this page (http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/support/warranty), I can provide a card statment instead?

I can definitely provide a card statement showing proof of purchase if that will work.

Its all solved now, the unit was exchanged and the new one works fine with no coil whine at all.

Thanks for the help though.
