gombry
Hi, I've read several threads and discovered that my two memory modules probably will not work on my new A8V Deluxe. cmx256A-3200C2 version 1.1 cmx256A-3200C2 version 3.1 I've tried several bios settings, voltage up to 2.8. I have bios 1008 and putting the memory in slots 1 and 3, and 2 and 4. Each stick works on its own, but not when both are installed. I have been using them both on a Soyo KT-600, awaiting the day that I had a dual-channel board. One poster stated that he had the same problem and the reply was to got the the "I think I have a bad part. What do I do?" in the warranty section. I purchased both from New Egg. I read in one post that it might be possible to send them to Corsair, however they both work, just not together. Is there any way I can get a matched pair from Corsair? Does the lifetime warranty cover this type of problem? Thanks.
jsteel44
Theres no gurantee that an unmatched pair from different revisions will work, its up to luck and unfortunately yours did not pan out. I am not sure if Corsair wil exchange it, lets see when RAM guy comes about what he says :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2004 Please make that request to our customer service by email and make it clear that you need both module to match. But this is not really a warranty issue. Please send us a email with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Warranty@corsairmemory.com. Or you can also use the On Line RMA Request Form as well. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the rma please email the same to rma@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it. brickdude
RamGuy, I seem to be having the same problem with my cmx512-3200c2pro. I recently bought two sticks but they do not run in dual channel mode on my mobo(abit ic7-g). I have tried various suggestions like various latency timings and switching slots but to no avail. After reading around i looked at the revisions and one is v1.1 and the other is v4.1. should i follow the same steps as you described earlier to try to get a matching pair from corsair so i can run in dual channel? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2004 You should contact the place of purchace if you ordered them at the same time. Or I would see if they will let you send them back and just get a Twinx set of modules. But this is not a warranty issue. And officially we do not gaurentee 2 modules unless they are a Twinx set. You are welcome to ask our customer service, but as I said this is not a module problem.
