pc4000pro 2x512

Im having trouble getting these modules up to 500mhz will they reach that speed with my hardware? thanx

 

M/B > Gigabyte 8IK1100

Chipset > 875p(Canterwood)

P4 > 3.0 ghz “C” 800mhz fsb 512k Northwood@227fsb 3.4ghz

Corsair TwinX1024-4000pro @454mhz

seagate120G sata hdd 8mb cache

Gigabyte ultracooler 3d gt cpu fan

Ati radeon 9600se 128mb graphics c

Antec smart blue 350 watt

Yes I've tried it at 3.6 (240mhz) wasn't to bad ran canopus procoder a cuppla times was lookin ok but then freeze also started at 250mhz fsb / 500mhz ram wouldn't even start & thats with dimm volts @2.8 so worked down from there I'ts been runnin @3.4ghz for like 48hrs now no probs so maybe thats it i'm cool with that anyway ..Thanx again ... :sunglasse

Sorry dude, but 250 is pretty much out of the 3.0 range. I am currently running the same Ram with a 3.0C and have it clocked to 3.55. 3.6 is about max with stability. Either get a slower processor with more headroom or live with it. DDR 480 is still really good and if you look at DDR 466 latencies they are the same standard as the 500 (3-4-4-8). Different processors aren't always the solution either, I have tried 2 2.8s and neither could hit 250.

yeah no worries lads it's back to stock at the moment ,i replaced the thermal paste on the hs/cpu after reading an article on dev hardware forum had too much on there so it's runnin a bit cooler 38/39c idle bout 54 under load now was about 43 idle 58 runnin canopus pro coder but the weather has been unusually cool here last few days so see when it gets hot again also I've got a 2.6ghz c 800mhz fsb woodie in another pc so might try that in a cuppla weeks when that pc is not being used ....cheers doods ;):
