mistafrnk
Yes I am so upset at the moment. I bought my bro 1 GB Memory Module Kit (2 184-PIN DDR-DIMMS) The computer now doesn't work. It starts up and the screen is black. Any suggestions? PLease help me? on what the problem is. My brother has intel P4 2.8ghz processor, ASUS mobo. What happened to my brother pc and then we went to install the old ones and still couldn't read the ram. :(:  . THANK YOU FRANK
Wired
What is the exact part # of the memory? Which ASUS motherboard is it? What is the FSB of the CPU? If multiple memory sticks wont work at all, it's probably not the memory, but you could try them in another system to be safe. Do you hear it booting? If so, try a different video card and/or that video card in a different system, may be a bad video card / AGP port.
mistafrnk
The part #of the memory is VS1GBKIT333. He has a P4PE2-X ASUS Mobo. Yea so I dunno know WTF he did wrong. Yea so what can the problem be if it didn't boot? Plz don't tell me something bad lol. Thank Frank
Wired
Could be a bad motherboard, could be bad power supply. Only way to test it is to start swapping parts with a known good working system.
