michaeldrouin
I'm back for more torture. Built my gaming computer and here's the specifications: AMD 64 3700+ Corsair TwinX 512MB CMX512 3200C2PT XMS3202V5.1 (slots 1 and 2 for 1GB) Spread Spectrum Disabled AGP Aperture Size 256M AGP Fast Write Auto CPU Thermal-Throttling Disabled HT Frequency 5x Max Memclock 200MHz Current Memclock 200MHz DDR Timing Manual Cas# Latency 2.0 tRC 7 tRFC 9 tRCD 5 tRRD 2 tRAS 5 tRP 3 tWR 2 tWTR 2 tRWT 4 tREF 2x2592 (What is this and what is the best setting? I have tons of choices. Anywhere from 1x1551 to 4x4672 then the last one is 128 cycles) 2T Timming Auto (Disabled and Enabled gave worse 3D scores) Voltages CPU Voltage Normal VDDQ Voltage Normal VCC12_HT Voltage Normal DDR Voltage +0.2Volts Anything lower on these settings, except tREF because I haven't touched that setting, causes a parity error and reset. I wrote down 3DMark scores as I decreased these setting and it go better every time. The only time it got worse, and by a lot, is when I switched the ram to slots 1 and 3. I really just want to know if the HT Frequency and CAS# Latency are okay or if I can get better performance by lowering the HT and increasing the CAS#. Also I would like to know what to set the tREF to? Thanks.

michaeldrouin
I've heard it is better to run only one RAM board for AMD 64s. I would like to try splitting up the Twins. Do I use the same settings that you gave me?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2004 With AMD 64 socket 754 that would be normal, if you use more than 2 modules in most MB's it will need to slow the memory down to DDR333.
