hey i read on the corsair site that i need to post in here before i can apply for rma for my ram? basically, when i put it in the motherboard (tried different boards), the motherboard speaker keeps on beeping and the computer wont boot up...when i try installing the ram as a second piece, it isnt recognized.. only the ram in the first slot is...so i know that the ram is shot for sure. (motherboard= asus a7n8x, cpu athlonxp2600) anyone know what the next step is supposed to be that i do to get this replaced? the place i got the ram from isn't in business anymore so i cant send it back to them.. please get back to me! thanks

the athlon xp is a 2600 333fsb..and i accidentally made a typo earlier.. i meant to say, it was pc3200 ddr400 ram.. value select.. a stick of 512 mb.. i also have a stick of kingmax ram (512 ddr333)... it works fine... i am 100% sure that it is the ram because i have tried it with more than 1 motherboard/cpu and it did the same thing in both systems (wouldnt boot up at all)

You still did'nt specify if the module is the VS512MB400 or VS512MB400C3.

You need to run this module by itself. Don't mix it with other RAM.

If it don't run with MOBO default settings, you can set the timings to

2.5-3-3-8 or 3-3-3-8 @ 333MHz.

You could check the RAM with Memtest , But if the timing and speed

isn't set right than it's pointless.

ohh sorry about that.. the number on it is VS512MB400C3.. and i would run memtest on it (as i have all my other sticks of ram), except for the fact that when the ram is installed, my computer won't even boot up.. the monitor just stays black and nothing happens... but when i tried 3 other sticks of ram i have, it works perfectly..in all the motherboard/cpu combinations i try it with.. any suggestions? thanks for your help by the way, i appreciate it
