newnet
Hi, We have several Asus P5AD2 Deluxe motherboards all of which your VS1GBKIT533D2 memory (recommended as compatible) fails to even boot the BIOS on theses boards in dual channel mode. If I attach the ram to the board in single channel mode it will boot fine. One particular machine needs to be built with 2G of memory thus I will need a 512M DIMM in every available slot, which leaves me unable to sidestep the issue by running in single channel mode. Contacting ASUS they say "memory compatibility is down to the memory manufacturer" The BIOS on the boards was updated to the latest version 1006 to no effect. Processors in these boards are Intel P4 3.0GHz and P4 3.2GHz and I am not interested in over clocking any parts. As you may realise I have tried this memory in each board and it is unlikely that all the motherboards are faulty, so it would seem more like a generic compatibility issue. Is this problem known and is there a work around? Regards Ben Wilkinson NewNet
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2004 No there is no problem that I know of, I would try and clear the bios and then load setup defaults and enter bios setup and set the Dim Voltage to 1.9 Volts and see if that does not solve the problem. Also Can you tell me the make and model of PSU you have?
ongby
I also got the VS1GBKIT533D2 for my P5AD2 Premium and I can't boot the motherboard properly with dual channel mode as well. Switching to 1.9V on the BIOS doesn't work as well. Any other ways?
