CUE causing VLC media player to stutter

CUE is causing VLC media player to stutter. I don't know whether the fault lies with VLC or CUE, but I'm posting it on both forums in case anyone has any suggestion.

As a side note, while doing this I discovered that whenever CUE updates (as a side note to a side note, when will Corsair allow us to disable update notifications? There might be reasons one wants to stick with an older version, especially given CUE history) it automatically changes the installation folder to Program Files (x86). Why? WHY? I want to keep it installed on a different drive.

Anyway, here is the problem with VLC:

Symptoms:

_The stutter frequency varies. Most often it would be every 4-5 seconds. At best it would be a skip every 10 seconds or so. At worst It would be every second. The frequency is not constant, and could become better or worse, within this range.

_Once it does happen, it will keep happening, till shutdown and restart (see below).

_Restarting by itself often doesn't fix it. The computer would have to be completely shutdown and restarted again.

_Sometimes playing the video would be the first thing I do when switching on the PC, and the stutter would be there. Due to its random nature, it was a bit difficult to reproduce.

_Once it happens it happens to all file types. I tried a really wide variety of sizes, resolutions, extensions (mkv, avi, flv, mp4...) , codecs used... etc.

_It only happens in VLC Media player. Playing the same files in Windows Media player produced no stutter.

Then while trying to figure out what recent changes I made that could have caused it, I remembered that I got a new Corsair keyboard (K95 RGB) that came with Corsair Utility Engine (CUE). So not wanting to leave anything out, I waited for the stutter to appear again, switched off CUE, and... the stutter disappeared. Turned CUE on, and there the stutter was back again. The keyboard itself causes no problems. Whether it's plugged on or not has no effect on the stutter. It's just the CUE.

I tried (without any effect):

General:

_Updating graphics drivers.

_Updating sound drivers.

On VLC Media Player:

_Changing Audio output module.

_Disabling/Enabling GPU hardware accelerated decodeing.

_Increasing caching value.

_Doing a clean install of an older version (2.2.1).

On Corsair Utility Engine

_Changing keyboard polling rate (1000/500/250/125 Hz).

_Enabling and disabling Ctrl-Break listening.

_Doing a clean install of an older version (1.14.43).

Any suggestions on how else I could try and fix this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What version of CUE are you running? How often does this happen? Does this only happen when you have a certain profile selected? ALso please provide us with your system specs

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/profile.php?do=extra

When it does happen again find the most recent CUE log and upload it

CUE version 1.15.36. As mentioned in my previous post, I tried reverting to an earlier version, but the problem still happened. Firmware 1.33.

It happens practically daily. Default profile.

System specs updated.

Let me see if i can get someone to send you a beta firmware for the K95. In the mean time have you checked for bios and chipset update?

Also when it happens check your CPU % usage

BIOS was updated. I'll wait for it to happen again and check CPU usage and get the logs.

Happened again. No excessive CPU usage (4-9% when VLC media player is running, 0% otherwise).
