need twin maybe

Recommended Posts

I just built a new computer

Some specs are

PNY nvidia 6800 GT

MSI K8T neo 2 motherboard BIOS 3.2

AMD 64 3500+ 90 nm version

4 x CMX512-3200C2

I had some problems early on, but fixed those. Now when I run memtest86

http://www.memtest.org/

I get an error around 150-151M in test 3 when writing 40404040. I've changed the settings around the mem modules a little, I could experiment more, but the result seems to always be the same.

Can someone tell me what I need to set my memory settings to in the BIOS?

I'm running the memory at 333 with a latacy of 3.

I know I should have bought the TWIN, but didn't know at the time. Is there anyway I can change these out for TWINs?

I know I shouldn't do 2 questions in one post but here I do it anyways.

Please check MSI's site as there is a new version of bios 3.2 that will work with the 90nm CPU's and the settings for four modules would be as follows.

CAS Latency CL=2.5

Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default

Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default

Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3

Row to Row delay Bios Default

Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 7

Row Precharge Time tRP 3

Write Recovery Time Bios Default

Write to Read delay Bios Default

Read to Write Delay Bios Default

Refresh Period tREF Bios Default

Enable 2T Timing Enabled

Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable!
