Kataro
Well heres the problem: Computer RESTARTS out of nowhere, doesnt log anything to event log, windows doesnt realized it crashed. Must be a hardware problem. Replaced Video card. <-- Didn't help Replaced Motherboard. <-- Didn't help Replaced System Drive. <-- Didn't help Replaced Power Supply. <-- Didn't help Next logical step would be RAM. As I have tested the CPU In another computer with another motherboard, it seems to run solid (P4 2.8ghz Prescott) I have gone as far as replacing all of my IDE cables (80-pin of corse). As you can see I've just about exhuasted all of my options. short of having a faulty WinXP disc (which i doubt because I am a Corporate user, with thousands of discs here), I see no other alternative solution. Advice is requested.
Wired
What motherboard do you have? Tried one stick at a time in this or that other system you mentioned? Try testing one at a time in a known good slot with http://www.memtest.org.
Kataro
Had a Gigbyte 8KNXP (I know :/) - Now have Asus P4800-E Delux (i865pe chipset). Well check the memtest when I get home.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 23, 2004 With ASUS P4 MB you may need to disable Legacy USB and set the timings manually and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts, with the performance mode to Auto and PAM or MAM set to AUTO as well. Kataro
Thank You for your help! turns out the problem was an SIIG Controller card. This card did pass all diagnostics and did see/boot all hard drives, however it just made my system unstable :/ FIXED tho, threw the controller out and bought a new one, (as it was no longer under warrenty).
