Morphix
Module is Corsair Value Select VS512MB400 Lot#0422005-0 I bought two of these sticks from Newegg.com a month ago, I thought they worked just fine didn't notice any problems. Would get the occasional Windows error but didn't think anything of it. Than I couldn't install certain games and they would always break on the same part, and certain games started giving me very specific error. I decided to run http://www.memtest86.com/ and I got nothing but errors. I started swapping the modules around to different slots, still same amount of errors. I than proceeded to run it with just one of the modules at a time, was able to isolate this module as the bad one. I've sent an email to techsupport and was told to complete the RMA form, but I wasn't told to fill out a post here. So I was suprised when I never recieved anything in the mail, anyway so that's the problem.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2004 I dont have a problem replacing the module for you but I would try and set the following settings and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure. CPU Freq: 200 Dim Voltage: 2.7 Volts DRAM Timing (overrides SPD values): Manual System Performance: Normal SDRAM Bank cycle time (or tRAS): 8 SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3 SDRAM RAS-to-CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5 If you still get problems or errors, then please send us a email with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Warranty@corsairmemory.com. Or you can also use the On Line RMA Request Form as well. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the RMA please email the same to rma@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it. Morphix
Thank you for the speedy reply. Really appreciate it. I checked my bios settings and it was set on optimal, but the settings you suggested were exactly the same. The voltage was already at 2.7v. My brother and I ordered our 2 sticks at the same time, and he's running identical hardware and has had no issues. But anyway I double checked suggested settings, switched around the modules again and ran Memtest86 and each time this specific stick of ram was in I got nothing but continuous errors reported back. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2004 Please try setting the timings manually and testing your module in his system would help as well.
Morphix
I did. I set it to manual mode and made the changes when I ran the tests this last time.
