Cordite
I have an ASUS A7N8X2.0 Deluxe board that I recently flashed to bios 1008 for the 200Mhz bus. I am replacing my Athlon XP 2600 with a Athlon XP 3200 and was wondering if anyone has had stability issues with the Corsair CMX512-3002v2.1 modules in dual channel mode at 200Mhz bus speed. Or am I reaching and should shell out the bucks for some 3200? (Dont know alot about the bios options, can I set the CAS to 2.5 or is it hardwired via the SPD? or will these modules handle the 200Mhz with CAS2?) Cordite
I think I may have answered my own question but wont know until I get the parts in. The CMX512-3000C2 are essentially the same modules as the 3200 but programmed with CAS2 rather than 2.5. After actually looking through the bios options I can set timings via "User Defined" so am I guessing that they should work fine with 2.5.
Wired
WRONG! They're clocked at 187.5 MHz, although you may be able to OC them to 200, but of course this is not guaranteed.
