rogue221
So I have this Corsair strafe MX red Keyboard. The problem is I keep getting asked to update the firmware, however when I try the update fails, and the keyboard stops working and I have to unplug it and reinstall it. I have both plugs in a USB 3.0 plugin, I even tried it thru my standard USB plugins on my case and in the back of the motherboard, nothing seems to work. I've tried launching in admin mode, even changing the permission settings listed in the FAQ. I have the non RGB version of the strafe. If there is no firmware update, why the software keep asking at start up? Is there away to stop it from checking for firmware updates at least so I don't have to tell people to click cancel. In normal operation everything works, I can create profiles and change the lighting effects, I just can't run the firmware update. terabyte
Have you tried updating the firmware on a different computer just in case?
Toasted
What firmware is the keyboard currently on? Can you upload the CUE logs here after a attempted firmware update? You can access the logs by clicking, Settings>Support>View logs.
rogue221
Its currently on version 1.30. I've tried launching in windows 7 compatibility mode as well. Nothing seems to allow this update to come thru. Terabyte, my kids gaming rig gives me the same problem. I also have corsair link installed for my Cooler and PSU but I've never had any problems with that software. Here is a log file paste: [2016-02-17T12:00:12]: UserSessionInfo: locked changed to 0. Corsair Employees Corsair Henry Posted February 18, 2016 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 18, 2016 The Strafe non RGB that i had here was on FW 1.3 as well. I just updated it 1.33 without any issues after seeing this thread. I did only plug in the cable with the keyboard icon to a usb 3.0. You may want to give it a shot? Do you have another computer you can try updating this on?
