FuManChuu
Allo, I'm not a small business or anything, but i've built a fair amount of computers. Heading to college this year i built 5 identical boxes for myself and four of my friends. Much like any box i've ever built, i dropped corsair ram into these bad boys, this time 2x512 of Corsair XMS 3200XLPro plugged into an Asus A8V Deluxe WiFi. While four of the boxes have been destroying FPS left and right, ive got a box that is giving me the most damned lockups. It will be fine for 3-5 days, then lockup constantly for a week, then fine. I've switched around the parts into the other computers as best as i can, and it seems the freezes follow this pair of RAM. I love the RAM, and i have faith in corsair products, but im frustrated to the level that i just want to get rid of this ram to clear my mind. Let me know any tests or system changes you want me to fiddle with and i will, but if there isnt anything major, i have about 3 weeks that i need to have this computer RMA'd and ready for school. I Appreciate it, Tyler
CMC_SAVAGE
Being that the systems are identical, have you tested the suspected modules with Memtest? The specs of the system would be helpful also.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2004 And what slots do you have the modules in? And what do you have the dim Voltage set too? I would suggest you install them in slots 2-4 and then go to bios setup and load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts then test with http://www.memtest.org, if you get errors please test them one at a time. It's the RAM ghosts O_o
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2004 Well if you are getting erratic behavior that would suggest a power problem, and what slots do you have the modules in?
FuManChuu
i've done 1-3 and 2-4, results seem to be the same, even at 2.8v
