Toasted
Have you tried a different USB port? Have you tried repairing CUE by running the installer again?

rmx
My computer's CUE also no longer recognizes my Scimitar. I don't understand the people recommending that we hook the mouse to another computer. I bought the Scimitar to work on my desktop PC. The mouse works fine other than the side buttons being completely inaccessible (as though the CUE is not loaded). The CUE no longer allows me to access the profiles, as though it isn't recognizing the mouse at all. I was prompted several times to install Firmware Update 2.01, as mentioned by another person. I've changed ports, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest CUE version and it changed nothing. Frankly, even when the CUE was fully functional and I saved my profile to the mouse it only saved the colors. Why is the basic thumb button config not saved, too? I've noticed that the CUE software causes stuttering while watching fullscreen video on a few websites. Once I close the software the fullscreen video works fine on those sites. I, personally wish that the CUE was not required to operate this mouse. Anyway, I cannot play any of my games now because the mouse will not operate properly without CUE, even after having saved my profile to the mouse, which again apparently doesn't save my thumb button config. I've owned this mouse for about a month and it basically is unusable now other than to browse web pages. How long on average does it take Corsair to come up with fixes? sbeard90
This just happened with my mouse this morning. Everything was working fine and now my mouse is malfunctioning. I use this pretty extensively at the office (I know, what a weird place to use the mouse) and have all of my thumb buttons macro'd for specific jobs that I do at work. Without the macro's, this wastes an exorbitant amount of time doing things I usually just hit a button for. Please fix this. This is a serious issue. Corsair Employees Corsair James Posted February 10, 2016 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 10, 2016 So first let me apologize some of you are experiencing this issue with Scimitar. I don't know how this issue started but to give you all some background, I asked Corsair Henry to give out 1.15 as a beta (along with FW 2.01) prior to this release being public. I also have given it out to the official beta testers. This meant that we had at least 40 people with very different hardware configurations (not counting internal QA) test this SW and FW together to ensure it was a smooth experience. We also wanted to ensure it solved the rare problem of Scimitar timing out every now and then. Out of the 40+ people, we didn't receive a single case of negative feedback where it broke something and our internal testing confirmed this. This is why the issue some of you are reporting is quite perplexing. However, we are putting all of our resources into this to investigate and it may take a few days to gather the information and attempt to reproduce the issue. As of right now, we don't have any systems that can do it so your logs have been well appreciated. We'll do what we can in the quickest turnaround possible. Sorry for the inconvenience. JMWags
thanks for reading and responding, it makes me feel more at ease that a member of corsair gaming took the time to read a post like this and respond So first let me apologize some of you are experiencing this issue with Scimitar. LittleZeasel
Adding my own voice to this as well, as here, too - my less than 1 month old scimitar rgb lost the use of the side buttons, and the shiny lights are static and I can't change them anymore. (I like shiny :) ) Within the CUE 1.15.36 and Firmware 2.01 I can neither click on "Profiles" nor can I click on "Devices" - they are grayed out. Uninstalling and re-installing did not fix the issue (it instantly updates to the latest version of CUE & Firmware). A fix, or an explanation in case I'm just missing something within the CUE would be appreciated :) Thanks heaps, Z.
amanfromspace
Same as the other posters above. What is pretty obvious to me is that this started happening after the dual combo of Scimitar firmware upgrade and CUE upgrade. Many days have gone by now and I don't understand why we don't have a way to return to the previous versions of firmware + CUE. This is a mouse, not the space station, can we just get a way to roll back to our working software? Thanks
Inheritance
This is the main thread for the issue http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=152372&page=7 Also You will need to PM Corsair Henry to downgrade your firmware PM me your email and I will send you the previous FW. This is also for everyone who updated to the latest FW and is experiencing this. Please provide me with your email in the PM. You can downgrade your CUE version by going to the FAQ in my signature. MayanPudding
Hey guys, My mouse also broke when this happened. i was looking at this thread while i was trying things. i've also tried updating and reupdating the software and firmware. i tried unplugging it and plugging back in/start up system with no mouse then plug in. what i did that fixed it, was plugged into my laptop and then restart the laptop. the mouse never worked while i was testing with the laptop. but after i did that and plugged it back into my main pc, i closed/reopened the corsair software. it then recognized my mouse and said working correctly. not sure why that worked, doesnt make any sense. MayanPudding
Hey guys, i had this issue after the updates as well. i did get it fixed after seeing this thread. i had already tried updating the firmware multiple times and uninstalling/reinstalling the software. i ended up plugging it into my laptop and it didnt work. did a reboot with it already plugged in and still didnt work. i then transferred it back to my main pc and it started working. i closed and reopened the software. now it shows working properly. it lets me set the lights and stuff now. no idea why that worked. Corsair Employees Corsair James Posted February 19, 2016 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 19, 2016 Same as the other posters above. Many days have gone by now and I don't understand why we don't have a way to return to the previous versions of firmware + CUE. This is a mouse, not the space station, can we just get a way to roll back to our working software? Thanks All you need is just to revert the FW back to 1.06 if 2.01 isn't working for you. You don't need to rollback the SW. Henry has posted the last FW above if you need it.
LittleZeasel
Can n00bs like me get a step by step instruction on how to "load the FW back" ? I have the FW emailed from Henry, and the instructions were: "1. Load into Cue 2. Click on settings and then Device tab 3. Click on update FW and it will ask for you the file 4. Please make sure you select the one attached to the email" But I can't find a way to "load it into CUE". Doubleclicking the file doesn't do anything either (it's a .bin) and there is nothing intuitively in the CUE that would let me load a new file in. And when I click "update FW" all it says is "your FW is up to date". Help?
Kinjin
I purchased the Scimitar 6 days ago. Turned on the pc today to the above issue. Honestly, I had stopped purchasing your products for some time because of issues just like this. There are plenty of products out there in the same performance / price range that simply don't have the continuous issues your products do. After having to download 3rd party software for my last wireless headset from you to control the volume so my ears didn't bleed above 6 /100 on the volume control, then dealing with it disconnecting so much as to be useless when in the same room, I had given up on you. It doesn't seem like anything changed. This is pretty much the last chance as far as I'm concerned. I have no desire to spend time uninstalling / reinstalling drivers and fighting terrible software every week to make a mouse work.
faeylyn
It's September (7 months after this post was initially written) and I'm having a very similar issue. Running CUE 1.16 and FW 2.03 for my Scimitar mouse. Every few minutes (it's making me insane), my mouse will malfunction and my buttons will turn solid red, my scroll wheel will turn blue, and my mouse will still recognize my active profile, but also the default configuration at the same time. My buttons are now doing two things at once, which is making gaming nearly impossible. For a quick fix, I just force update the firmware, but I feel like after several hundred firmware updates over the course of a week, this issue should have resolved itself. If I restart CUE, the malfunction fixes itself. For approximately 20 minutes. CUE itself is up to date (to my knowledge), and oh look. During the course of this post, my mouse malfunctioned. Sometimes when I attempt to update the firmware, it'll freeze at 3%. Please send halp.
