VH-BIL
I have a K70 keyboard that works perfectly but when the keyboard is disconnected form the surface dock it goes into demo mode and I can not turn the lights off. I have seen other posts but they talk about bios, I can not adjust bios on the dock. Is there a way to turn off the lights? I have to unplug the keyboard from the dock when finished, having a dock is supposed to prevent needed to plug and unplug hardware. I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, i7 16GB version. Toasted
I don't think there is a permanent way to disable it while having power to the keyboard. Pressing the escape key will temporarily stop the demo mode. Have you tried pressing the brightness button to turn off the LEDS before shutting down? Does it stop the LEDs from turning on in demo mode?
VH-BIL
If I press the brightness button and turn the Surface off and leave it connected to the dock, the lights stay off. When I disconnect the Surface from the dock they turn on in about 30secs in demo mode. Very annoying I must say. They should update the firmware to be able to turn off the demo mode with the brightness button.
David.VG
+1 Demo mode should be an option for the end user. From the end user point of view this design is defective.
