And can this be a compatability issue im having. The first stick I bought a long time ago, it is cmx512-3200LLpt xms3205v 1.1 The second stick I got a few months ago cmx512-3200LLpt xms3205v 1.2 I have both installed on an Asus A7n8x motherboard, & am wondering if the versions have different programing, which in turn causes memory issues on this board? :confused: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 10, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 10, 2004 CMX512-3200LLpt XMS3205v 1.1 = Winbond -5 Rev B IC's @ 2-2-2-6 CMX512-3200LLpt XMS3205v 1.2 = Winbond -5 Rev C IC's @ 2-3-2-6 I would just set the timings manually to Cass 2-3-2-6 with the Rass to Cass set to "3" and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and you should not have any problems. Rayne Posted December 21, 2004 Author Share Posted December 21, 2004 I had posted a while back about 2 sticks of CMX512-3200llpt that had different memory timings. 1 was 2226 & the other was 2326. As to your instructions Ram Guy, I set both timings to your specifications. Still had problems. I tried everything. I went as far as buying another stick with 2326 to pair with the one i had. Still had reboots, errors,etc. Frustrated, I enlisted the help of a friend. We Prime 95 the 2326 pair, it failed in 4 minutes. I then took those out, & tested the 2226 stick, figured it was good since it went 4 & 1/2 hours with no errors. Tested the ram i had just purchased, and after 2hrs with no errors, decided to test 1st ram with 2326 timings. Failed 2 minutes into test. I then wanted to see if I could pair the 2226 with the new stick i just bought 2326. Over 9hrs later in Prime 95, I finally got what I was looking for in the first place, A stable machine period. I would like to RMA this bad stick for a replacement. Setup ASUS A7N8X Athlon Xp 2100+ 1.5gb Corsair 3200LLPT Plextor PX-712a PC Power & Cooling PS Ati 9800 pro I know its time for an upgrade, just waiting to see how ATI responds to SLI. Currently have that set up with the new stick of 2326 & the old stick of 2226, set to your specifications. Works fine, just not with the first stick of 2326. Bad stick of memory.
