Izaik
I recently bought a kit of two 512mb sticks of Value Select Ram. During the install of XP and other drivers no errors occured, but lately i have beeen getting BSOD errrors when i run programs and sometimes at shutdown. I ran memtest and got thousands of errors. following other advice i tested one stick at a time and found the faulty stick. i think it is bad and i'd like to request an RMA, but i dont know if i'll have to send both sticks or just one. Also I threw away the box that it came in so i dont have the part number just the lot number and model. I am running a shuttle an35 motherboard with a AMD Athlon 2700XP+ with 2 sticks of 512mb PC3200 Value Select RAM and Windows XP SP2 I've gone to other sites to try and fix the errors but only running the stick without errors on it has fixed it. Any help will be appreciated.
Jabberwok
following other advice i tested one stick at a time and found the faulty stick Can you try both sticks in different sockets to see if the faulty one still have problems?send both sticks or just one If only one stick is having problems then there is no need to send both if one runs fine, they'll just send it back to ya.Also I threw away the box that it came in so i dont have the part number just the lot number and model I am unsure about those Value select DIMM's because I don't have any. But if Corsair treats their Value select line the same as their XMS/TwinX line you'll have this info on the sticker on the side of your DIMM's.shuttle an35 motherboard Ah the nForce2 board... A personal favorite of mine but with it's share of problems. I got similar problems when I first got my nForce2 based board : But I've found a fix which may work for you... It's worth a try in my opinion & can be found HERE . Try reading the whole thing, but you get a few extra tips at the end of it... If you try it & it works for you then could you post your results? Wired
Are you running the memory @ 333 Mhz or 400 Mhz? If the latter, then set to the former and re-test, as you have a 333 Mhz FSB and the memory and FSB need to be in sync.
Izaik
I tried running them in different slots and that doesn't work. I also lowered the speed and i got errors on every setting, even 166mhz. The working stick runs fine at 400mhz and 333, so i believe that the ram is simply faulty. I've always bought my ram from you guys so i know its good stuff, but I just got a bad stick so please if you have any more ideas I have the time to try 'em. Thank you for the help anyway.
