jasonvp
Hey folks - I'm planning a system case overhaul which will include graduating up from a CoolerMaster Cosmos II to a Corsair 900D. I have a small challenge and that's the number of drives I'm currently using: 7. The intent is to use the lower part of the 900D for a big 480mm radiator, so that means I have to use the two cages in the main part of the case. Which will leave me only with space for 6 drives. Has anyone tried to use any of the available 2 x 2.5" to 3.5" bay adapters inside the Corsair trays? Something like this? Thanks!

Good day jasonvp, I've done what you've envisioned with the 480mm radiator along the bottom of my system, with the same amount of drives. The only difference is I have all six 3.5" drive caddies filled with 3.5" drives. The seventh is a Samsung 850 EVO, but given the fact that the 900D was endowed with four ODD bays, I used a 5.25" to 2.5"/3.5" adapter, such as this one by Sharkoon. This will help make use of any empty ODD bays you may have left over. I hope that helps!
jasonvp
This will help make use of any empty ODD bays you may have left over. Thanks, but the 5.25" bays will be spoken for. They're off limits for HDD and/or SDDs.
snapper69
It's a shame that Corsair didn't fit the ssd caddies on the back, as per the 750D and 730T. Doesn't it come with 3 HDD cages?
jasonvp
It's a shame that Corsair didn't fit the ssd caddies on the back, as per the 750D and 730T. Doesn't it come with 3 HDD cages? It comes with 3 HDD cages, and room for a fourth. And I agree, having an SSD caddy or two (or three, or four...) would be handy. Anyway, the 2.5"->3.5" adapters work perfectly. I'm using 2 of the HDD cages, and 4 of the bays have the 2x2.5" adapters in them. The machine has 3 pairs of SSDs in it now.
snapper69
I'm seriously thinking of getting one and puting all 3 cages, possibly with the hot swap panel on the back, into the bottom section, with a couple of quiet fans on the right side of the bottom section for cooling ( I may even get a 4th cage). That will leave the top section open for cooling from the 3 front fans and an H110i GT in the top. The only down side is that I don't like window cases, if I could get a right hand panel and fit it on the left, that would be great. All I need to do is sell my other 3 cases (750D, 730T and Thermaltake Level 10 GT) and I'll be sorted.
