Steamroller
Hi! Hope im posting in the right thread. So......... i have a K70 RGB. Everything was GREAT until the first FW update. Since then it stopped working in BIOS and the boot loader. It sometimes does work, but i have to load the deafult Windows, then reboot and then it sometimes work. When i turn on the computer it 100% will not work. I cannot update to the new firmware torugh the software. http://i.imgur.com/pQ5v4Xa.jpg I try to update trough the server it fails all the time. I tryed looking for FW files to download... on the corsair web page i foound only the K70FwUpdate 1.09 sw-1.3 file.... which doesnt work either. It says: http://i.imgur.com/9PGL1tf.jpg I need to restart the software every time i want to try to update beacuse the "Device" tab goes blank! http://i.imgur.com/6eb535B.jpg The irony is that i have to do a review of the keyboard... and i cannot get a hang of this "slight problem". Can anyone help? Are there download links somewhere for the new FW? Thanks!
terabyte
Wait, wait.. You are mixing quite a few things there @Steamroller. Here's a quick list: This thread is about the old K70/K95 non-RGBYou have a K70 RGBThe firmware for the RGB series can ONLY be downloaded from CUE, there is no official direct download available. The FW updater file you found in the downloads area is for the old K70 non-RGB and is useless for you (or even for the old keyboards anyway since it is 2+ years old) Back to your problem, try checking this thread instead: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=138472 If the above thread doesn't help fixing your issue try opening a ticket with Corsair and ask for a hard firmware flash. Steamroller
It did not help since the thread contains no download links to firmware update files.
terabyte
It did not help since the thread contains no download links to firmware update files. As I said there is no official download link for the firmware files, they all get downloaded within CUE itself. That thread however lists some possible ways of fixing the FW update not working, like switching USB ports or running CUE in compatibility mode. Have you tried all the possible solutions listed there?
Steamroller
I did not try all the listed things... because its quite a list! I dont have that much spare time... but the keyboard is driving me crazy! I just updated the software, it did not fix the problem. I have just tried the keyboard on a different computer, fresh first install, newest software. No fix... when i try to update firmware it says there is no device connected. http://i.imgur.com/LbwSYNb.png So what options do i have? And what is the purpose of the small hole on back of the keyboard? Its not mentioned in the official manual.

You will need to contact Corsair Support for the files and steps.
