Rarkal
Some time ago I noticed the colour of some of the keys on the right hand side of my keyboard were dull, the colour in the profile is uniform, I changed and changed it and I think it went away. However now my S key appears duller than the surrounding keys, again they are all set to the same colour, and there is nothing under or on the key to make the colour appear different. I have changed colour but no difference. http://oi67.tinypic.com/2j1kbrq.jpg What is wrong and how can I fix it? Thank you
Rarkal
I have forced a firmware update, the problem is still there.
Peekandco
Could be the keycap itself?
Rarkal
Tried swapping them, it looks the same with another key on it, the light underneath is less bright :(

How long have you had the keyboard?
Rarkal
End of October 2015, when it was first released in the UK. It an expensive keyboard, I just want it to work as it should :)
Corsair Employees Corsair Henry Posted January 20, 2016 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 20, 2016 End of October 2015, when it was first released in the UK. It an expensive keyboard, I just want it to work as it should :) We completely understand. Try plugging it into a usb 3.0 or perhaps another computer to verify. If the "S" key is still dim, we don't have a problem with replacing the unit for you.
tonioV
same thing happened to me, with 2 keyboards, first a strafe rgb and now a k70 rgb, the red channel of the key gets dimmer and it looks awful
Toasted
You can contact customer service and get the keyboard replaced via a RMA. https://corsair.secure.force.com/

Falkentyne
If I may ask, what SMD RGB LED's does the Strafe use? Is it 3528? 5050? The 5050's would probably be too large. Here's a 3528 RGB LED (PLCC4) http://www.electron.com/top-led-smd-3528-rgb-plcc4rgbct-ca.html 5050: http://www.electron.com/top-led-smd-5050-rgb-plcc6rgbct.html Because there are some people with repair experience who can simply pop in a new LED (obviously the vast majority of gamers won't, but never underestimate the abilities of the client base!) Rarkal
I have contacted the seller I bought this from and await there response. It's not the keycap itself and when swapped with another the issue remains on the replaced keycap, its defiantly the RGB light underneath that is dimmer.
