Problem and some questions

Bought a Corsair Strafe RGB last week. Loving the keyboard, but I'm having one annoying issue:

Whenever I wake my computer from sleep or unlock it, CUE always pops up a dialog box that says "No device detected. Please plugin a device." It seems to disappear automatically after 5 seconds or so after the keyboard gets the software effects applied. Is there any way to suppress this dialog? Because it disappears on its own, it's not a big deal, but it's still super annoying.

And some questions:

  1. We will ever see a model with dedicated media keys and a volume knob/roller? There is a dedicated button for windows locking but no media keys, which I use very often.
  2. I noticed that one can set the background color of keys (which persists when the CUE software is not running), however, there does not seem to be a way to set intensity on the background color. I am using a lighting configuration that sets keys with solid 75% intensity. I also have the per-key ripple effect that is set to ripple from 100% intensity back to 75%. There seems to be no way to have this lighting configuration and have lighting when CUE is not running.

EDIT: I have firmware 1.33 and CUE 1.13.36

There is no way to suppress the dialog in the current CUE version. It's annoying, but if I recall correctly, it has something to do with how windows handles USB devices.

As for your questions:

1. The Corsair reps don't comment on upcoming products, so you're unlikely to receive an official response there. They do read these posts though, so go ahead and describe what you think would make a future model successful. Who knows - maybe your ideas could influence the design! :)

2. You are referring to saving a profile to device memory, right? The device's onboard storage saves only static lighting. No macros - no animations. Just the background colors. You should be able to choose any color for background colors though... Have you tried right clicking the colors shown underneath the bottom left of the keyboard?

Darn. Maybe they delay the dialog from popping up... wait 10 seconds then if there's no device, pop it up then. One can hope.

2. Yeah... I wanted to have the background color with 75% intensity and then have non-static lighting at 75% intensity that creates a ripple starting at 100% intensity back down to 75%. I guess it is not possible since background color is effectively a solid color with 100% intensity. EDIT: it is possible... just need to make the background color darker, since intensity has the same effect. Can't believe that didn't occur to me before...

Another one: Is there a way to bind an action/mode switch to a key combination? In particular, Fn+F1, Fn+Q, etc.

That's a good idea there to combat the dialog popup. I'm not a software guy so I don't know how it works, but maybe that would work :P

I can answer your second question though. Macros can only be executed by single key presses. You cannot assign any macros to Fn+F1 or any other key combination as CUE is today. This includes mode switching. Hopefully this functionality is added to CUE. I would really like to see it happen.
