TheKingPin
Hey Y'all folks, first off, thanks for reading this Thread (its my debut! :)) I am sorry if there are threads already regarding these Questions,i searched for it but couldnt find anything... I got my K95 RGB for Christmas and bought my M65 RGB soon after, and i really enjoy the advantage i get from just having a better hardware (in terms of reaction time). I didnt really look into CUE that much, since i didnt need avanced functions until now, but now that i start thinking about the possibilities i have, theres some questions that come into my mind... 1) is it possible to cycle the Mode (not the Profile) of the M65 with a button from the K95? (if i could cycle it together with the modes of the K95,that would be really awesome. Like using the M2 Key on the K95 and the M65 switches to Mode 2 aswell :3) 2) How do i get reactive lighting for single Keys? I want to create Profiles for my preferred MOBA Game, and thats why i want single keys to flash up for different durations after i press them. Right now i only found the possibility to make them all light up for the same duration... Thanks in advance! TheKingPin
Jkraghify
1. Unfortunately, modes are not linked between devices in this version of CUE. Profiles are linked but not modes. 2. To get reactive lighting per key, you have two options. You can use the "type lighting" option in the additional options for each mode (this is what you're doing currently). You could also create gradient lightings to apply to each key individually. The advantage here is each key could have a completely different "reactive" effect. The disadvantage is that it is much more complicated to set up and will take a while, but it is doable if you set aside 10 minutes to learn how the forground lighting editor works. Steps: in the "profiles" tab, create a new profile.Click on the lighting menu for the profile you just created, and make sure you are in "advanced settings" by checking the area underneath the bottom right corner of the keyboard shown in CUE.Select the key you want to apply reactive lighting to. You cannot select all the keys at once! If you select all the keys at once, they will all have reactive lighting that acts together - you will press one key and they will all light up. Make sure you do this one key at a time.Right click the key and "assign new lighting"You're now in the forground lighting editor. Create a gradient lighting effect (I'll attach an example later today).Check the "start on key press" and "end after 1 times" boxes.Repeat steps 3 - 6 for every key you want unique reactive lighting for. Now, for the rest of the keys you can either leave them without reactive lighting, or you can create a gradient on one of the keys and apply the same effect to the rest of the keys one at a time. To do this, you open the light effects list and find the gradient effect you are using for the rest of the keys, and drag it onto every remaining key without reactive lighting. The whole process is really fast once you know how to do it. I hope the instructions were detailed enough... Maybe I should do an instruction video for this as it's a confusing process the first time :)
TheKingPin
Thanks for the fast Response! Well, thats sounds quite unfortunate... So theres not even the possibility to create a mode switching button for the keyboard? Sorry if thats a dumb question, but that would mean that i have to put mode switching und one of the keys from the mouse, which means i lose one mouse key, which is far worse than losing one of my 18 G Keys... As for the other answer,i will have to test it out i guess... But ill probably do that when i have the time to,since i have a lot of different modes to program :x
Jkraghify
Thanks for the fast Response! Well, thats sounds quite unfortunate... So theres not even the possibility to create a mode switching button for the keyboard? No, you can't switch modes on the mouse with the keyboard. I usually just have one mode on the mouse, though I guess if you're using macros then that changes things up. As for the other answer,i will have to test it out i guess... But ill probably do that when i have the time to,since i have a lot of different modes to program :x It's easier than it sounds, trust me. The first mode you do will take a bit of time and the next few will be really fast. Still slower than using the type lighting, but that's the expense of extreme control and customizability. I'll be able to offer more help when I get home and actually have the software in front of me :) Feel free to pm me or ask away here
TheKingPin
Thanks again for answering so fast :) I know its quite easy, but since my game features around 150 different champions and i have to create a mode for all of them,(or just for my favs but thats still around 30 :D) so thats still a bit of work. :D Another problem came up when i rebooted my pc today... My M65 doesnt recognize keybind i put on the sniper button... (i had Win+q und that in default mode) it doesnt matter how many times i restart the program or replug the mouse,it wont work... I created a new keybind, but its still not not working. I deleted the other keybind and even tried resetting everything to default :C please help, since i want to keep atleast that macro on my beloved mouse. (I'm Running Win 8.1 on a FX8350 @ 4ghz, a R9 290X with 4gb GDDR5 and with 8gb DDR3 Ram on 1866 mhz, just for the info. My System Hard Drive is a SSD with 128gb) Thanks again :) TheKingPin
