H110i GT not cooling cpu at all

so i got my self a corsair h110i gt water cooler and it was ok for the first 6 months or so. now that summer has arrived in australia its getting really hot, and now i noticed that the cooler isnt working as it should be anymore.

just under a week ago I noticed that while playing my games i was getting huge fps drops and tracked it down to the cpu getting really hot between 90-100 degrees. so i looked at the corsair link program and boosted up the rpm on fans and boosted the pump, and it got worse and my pc started freezing up from the overheating. after about an hour i let it cool and started it up again and still the cpu would overheat in just under 5 mins at idle.

now i started to take action. first thing i did was turn my fans on the cooler around to take the heat out. this did nothing. next i inspected the entire thing for leaks or breaks, still nothing. third i redid the thermal paste on the cooler and attach it as perfect as i could, and again nothing it still overheated after 5 mins.

now im stuck and forced to use the stock intel fan cause i dont have enough time to diagnose what it is without it overheating. i cant figure it out can someone please help me

It sounds like you need to RMA the cooler or whatever the best option is for you in Australia. I take it the cooler is now off and I suspect you probably don't want to put it back on to troubleshoot.

A slow continuous build up of heat with the fans and pump running usually suggests a blockage of some type. When you were running the LINK software, did you notice your water temperature (H110iGT Cooler Temp) when the problems started? A high water temperature usually means a flow problem, absent some other extreme heat source.

It's also possible it was a pump failure, but in either case there isn't much you can do on your end. Normal performance and then a sudden change usually means one of those two things, as long you didn't unintentionally unplug the pump. Regardless, the next step is the same and I am afraid you need to replace it. Go ahead and start the ticket process, but it will likely be Monday US Pacific time before someone is able to respond.

yes i remember a couple of times where my cpu temp would be just touching over 90 degrees and the pump its self would only be at 58.

thats when i suspected it would be the contact of the cpu and pump, which i already changed. and did no effect. now the pump and cpu get as hot as each other.

58C on the water temperature is way out of bounds for anything but the most extreme set-up. That is evidence there is a flow problem, either pump or some other internal restriction. When the the block and CPU are not in good contact, you will get extremely high CPU temperatures in a fraction of a second and shutdown shortly after. The water never gets the chance to heat up and most of that CPU heat is not transmitted into the water system. The block issue can usually be addressed, but I am afraid you need to replace the unit.
