ventusjk
Hi, fellow forum users and Corsair team. Like I mentioned on my last thread, I bought my Corsair Scimitar about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Apart from a known issue from the thread here http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=152372 I actually have another issue which kinda annoys me when I'm playing a game. It seems to be fine while I'm not in the game, but when I start to play the game (especially WoW or SC2), the mouse pointer randomly jumps back to the center of the screen which annoys me so much. The problem is that I don't know how this is happening, so I cannot reproduce such bug(?) by myself. Does anyone else also have such issue? Regards,
terabyte
I've never heard of such issue before :(: Does this happen only playing a specific game or with any game you have? If you name a few we can see if we have them and try to reproduce ourselves.

If you name a few we can see if we have them and try to reproduce ourselves. Hi, terabyte! Since I only play few games, I could have not tested on many... But, at least it seems to happen on every game that I play like WoW, SC2 and LoL (especially WoW). And after I wrote this thread, I actually tried to reproduce this bug on WoW and it seems to happen with the following processes. 1. click Left mouse button. 2. slightly drag the mouse (like about 2~3 cm). 3. click Left mouse button again after dragging. If you follow these steps fast, it would reproduce an issue (not all time). I'll try to capture the video if this would help. Regards,
terabyte
Oh, I'm more of a single-player oriented gamer so I don't have those games to test with. Hope someone else can reproduce :):
ventusjk
Here's the video that I captured to test such issue. [ame=https://youtu.be/kriAVuwwLBo]https://youtu.be/kriAVuwwLBo[/ame] It's only 22 seconds video and the issue occurred 4 times which means that it would happen even more when I actually go for raid or BG. - 0~1 sec - 3~5 sec - 8~11 sec - 12~14 sec I also tested it with my Logitech G502 mouse which did not produce this bug. (Same DPI with LEDs turned off). Should I just contact the retailer and get a replacement? Regards,

I tried with new profile and even re-installed CUE after your advice, but it seems to be same.
Jkraghify
Does the bug still happen if CUE isn't running? I don't have WOW so I cant test it myself. It is odd behavior. Btw if CUE isn't running, the side buttons on the Scimitar will not do anything, so I realize that you should be able to have CUE running and not experience this sort of bug. Trying to replicate this without CUE running would help narrow the issue down to a software or firmware issue as opposed to a hardware problem. Goat1
That's really odd. I have zero issues with my Scimitar. I have not updated my mouse at all. I even have my mouse plugged into a powered hub. I wonder if some of these guys problems are the usb end on the mouse grounding out on their motherboard. I've seen it before. If you have a 2nd computer or laptop, try it on that. I just tested this bug without CUE and it is still happening. And like you said I'll definitely need CUE to use macros with those side buttons :[pouts: Should I contact the retailer and ask replacement? EDIT: Moreover, like I mentioned on my comment (a comment with a video), I tried same thing with my Logitech G502 for 10 minutes and nothing happened... (On same DPI) I'm kinda frustrated right now... I love this mouse, but since it's brand new, it seems to have lots of unexpected errors/ issues. Also I have tested it on my Gigabyte P25X-V2 laptop and same thing happened on my laptop as well :[pouts:

Regards, Yeah, this sounds a lot like the issue I am having with mine. And just like you said it's hard to reproduce, I did make some vids myself and sent them to corsair 2 days before Christmas, still waiting for a reply. (you can see my thread here http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=153764 ) Based on the feedback I have gotten from Corsair Henry so far, it seems like Corsair have been unable to reproduce the issue on their end. Hopefully the vid I sent them will help. I've personally tried every single suggestion or recommendation and fix everywhere, and nothing has helped me so far. I've never heard of such issue before :(: Does this happen only playing a specific game or with any game you have? If you name a few we can see if we have them and try to reproduce ourselves. Pretty sure you replied to my thread too, didn't you? Which is the same issue as this guy I think. This guy mentions WoW, and that is the game where I also notice it the most.. also noticing it a lot in SWTOR and also in other games & windows but it seems less bad in those cases. (sorry for highjacking your thread, OP x) )

(sorry for highjacking your thread, OP x) ) Yours should be the same issue I have where the mouse becomes unresponsive and/or the cursor moves around randomly with a lot of lag. His issue is that the cursor always moves back to the center of the screen. The end issue we see is different, but hopefully the root cause is the same and they will fix this too. Goat1
I just noticed something else. Make sure you have CUE minimized. I alt tab'd SW:TOR, changed my profile to something else and the side buttons stopped working. Once I went back to my default profile, it worked again. You guys might have that problem as well. Try the default Profile..

Since it is still acting strangely without CUE running, I am thinking it is a firmware issue. You could try to RMA or return the mouse if you want, but I doubt it is a hardware issue. This is probably something that will be fixed with a new firmware version similar to how they fixed the problem where sensor used to skip pixels. When the Corsair team gets back from vacation we will have more information :)
Corsair Employees Corsair Henry Posted January 4, 2016 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2016 The SCIMITAR Bugging out is a completely different issue. I suspect that you have a faulty unit and replacing it should address it. If CUE is not running and this issue still persist, then it's the mouse. I'll come back to you if there is still a problem.

You can clearly see that his cursor jumps back to the center of the screen regardless of where the cursor is. If you are up for an exchange, we can take care of you in that regards. If i recall correctly, your friend also had the scimitar mouse and he tried it on your machine without issues. Btw thanks for the videos! I will also forward them to our validation team.
