Roger Rines
Corsair's memory matching guide indicates this memory module CM72SD512-3200 with a Latency of 3-3-3-8 as the best fit and doesn't allow the user to scroll to other modules greater than 1 Gig. In my application 2 Gig is needed so I went looking what Corsair would recommend for the P4C800 Asus board which is also based upon the Intel 875 Chipset. On Corsairs recommendation page, the TWINX2048-3200PRO 2-Gig kit is available as recommended module as well as the CM72SD512-3200 module. Is there any reason why the 2-Gig kit TWINX2048-3200PRO won't work? I need a work around because when I tried to buy 4 of the CM72SD512-3200 modules it comes up as not yet available with no promise of a sunrise date. Facts about this Product - Asus NCCH-DL Processor: Dual Intel® Nocona™ with 800FSB Chipset: Intel® 82875P, Intel® 6300ESB ICH Memory: Dual Channel PC3200 ECC Unbuffered up to 4GB Expansion: 2 x PCI , 2 x PCI-X Thanks, Roger... mail to rdrines at spamcop dot net
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2004 Twinx2048-3200 will run great in that MB, but I would not get the Pro version unless you will have a window in your case!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2004 I just checked with Mobel  and they do stock CM72SD512LP-3200 but they are out of stock at the moment.
Roger Rines
Thank you for the quick response. I was going to buy the TWINX2048-3200C2 or the TWINX2048-3200C2PT 2 Gig kits, which show better latency range than the PRO version showed, but they sell for $100+ more. I didn't see any other choice for a 2-Gig kit, but maybe I was in too much of a hurry because I was concerned about getting something here next week and confused about the limited offerings Corsair showed for my board. Will the blinking lights (LEDS), which I'll never see with the box under the desk (unit will be a graphics workstation and programming platform driving multiple monitors), cause any issues other than eating more watts? Can you recommend an alternative choice that might be in stock at your dealers, be less expensive and work the same? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2004 That is still in the process of being implemented. Please try http://www.mobel.com or search at http://www.pricewatch.com and that will give you a list of resellers who sell that respective part. But most do not carry the Un-Buffered ECC module. Mobel does carry all of them though.
Roger Rines
Hello Ram Guy, I'm back and now need to think XP PRO 64-bit OS. Currently, my ASUS NCCH-DL Mother Board described above has run flawlessly since installing my Corsair: TWINX2048-3200PRO (2GB) modules. I would like to push this installation to 4GB, but have read comments you've made about how it affects the chipset and wonder what you would recommend for a next step solution? What Corsair modules will play nice with my current pair, or do I jump to a 4GB pair instead? Which ever recommendation please pass numbers I can use to order. Thanks,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 There is no 2.0 Gig DDR1 modules available at this time that would work in your MB. Also if you install more than two modules you may be limited to DDR333. I would suggest just getting 2 sets of Twinx2048-3200 for best performance. Roger Rines
Thanks for responding. I went to the local computer store, Micro Center, and tried to snag the modules you mentioned, but was told they did carry them any longer. They did say that these modules might work, but I won't get them unless you think there is a chance: TWIN2X4096-6400 @ 129.99 TW2X2048-6400C4 @ 89.99 TWIN2X2048-6400 @ 69.99 Can you recommend any of the modules the store offers? Will this slow the computer down much from what I'm using with my 3.3.3.8 modules?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 25, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 25, 2008 None of those modules would be compatible with your system I would suggest search at http://www.pricegrabber.com for TWINX2048-3200 and see what you find.
