pmdureska
Hi all. I am getting ready to build using the 100i GTX and a Maximus Hero VIII MB. I see that the board has a separate Water Pump fan connection and two other fan connections in the same area. I assume one of these is the CPU fan Header and the other is the Optional fan header correct? I am replacing the stock radiator fans with Noctua NF-F12's. Do I connect the the fans to the CPU fan header or to the water pump fan header. If I connect to the water pump fan header will I get a CPU fan connection error? Thank you to all who respond
Datakiller24
Hi, I have also replaced the fans with noctua ones (push pull 4x F12). Connect your pump to the CPU header (CPU1), set in bios fan control "off" or "manual" mode set to 100% (Q-fan) for the CPU header. Connect Your fans to the H100i GTX directly with the Y cable. Set your fan profiles than under win through the Corsair link software. This is how I set my system up, works well. Just one note to the F12 fans ... these ones has around 65% static pressure in comparison with the original supplied corsair fans, so if only 2 used expect a bit higher temps than with the corsair fans (off-course, the noctua´s are more silent :) ). - the pump header on Your MB is prepared for water coolers which don´t have their own connection of the fans, so leave it "empty". - the CPU1/CPU header connection is a must have, otherwise Your MB will prevent boot (needs rpm feedback) BR, Peter

I have built two other systems using the h100i using Noctuas (2 fans in a pull configuration) and have been happy with my temps. I was just confused about the separate water pump header which in corsair's installation video they connect to the water pump fan header which I thought would result in a cpu fan error. Building a gaming computer for my son so had to go with with the ROG look on the ASUS MB.
Datakiller24
Sometimes it´s not easy to be a parent :) I put my sons PC into a Silverstone GD09B (HTPC case) loaded with noctua fans and hidden away from his sight. Until heavy load he even don´t know he has a PC ... so he can´t complain how it looks like inside (it´s very tight build with a GTX980, but enough space even for that). So now, You will have nice times to find red/black 120 fans with PWM control ... high pressure and some optimal noise. Keep fingers crossed ;)
antonyfrn
I have the same mobo I used to run my H110I GT off the pump header no issues. You can select to ignore the PWN connectors for CPU0 and CPU1, but it makes no difference from what I've seen choice is yours.
