Fcirivello
So I recently purchased the k95 rgb to replace my k70 that recently died due to an unfortunate incident with a cup of coffee. While I was at it I picked up a M65 Got them home plugged in and downloaded the editor. Everything was fine and I had a bit of fun setting up profiles with the many color options and so on. That was a week ago. This morning I sat down and found that my push to talk keybinding for a chat server wasn't working. So I did a system reset. When it restarted I got a message that the K95 need a firmware update to 1.33. OK sure. Complete that and the keyboard is dead no keystrokes register, and the LEDs are off and the mouse is 100% unresponsive. restart same pop up asking to update to 1.33, cancel out Ok well lets try opening the Utility engine. the K95 is not even recognized by the program. unplug and replug nothing Restart again. Then at the log in screen i have to unplug and re plug the keyboard several times just to put in the password to get back into windows. Well after several restarts and a bit of cursing I have basic control back but several keys appear not to be responding and the K95 is seen but is not selectable for editing and is showing firmware version 0.11. I tried the update firmware option button and it did the same lock up as before. I had to repeat the steps to get back what i had(partial control) the M65 is running version 1.19 and seems to be ok. When I would attempt to update the firmware I would get quite a few of sounds of devices being connected and disconnected. I'm running them both through a KVM switch as I have 2 systems and they both worked fine last night. I was on the Mac(the system that didn't have a problem) this morning and everything was fine, when I switched to the PC that's when i saw the need for the update. Sorry for the long winded explanation but I'm at a loss what to do. Both are nice products, when they are fully functional.
Corsair Employees Corsair Henry Posted December 23, 2015 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 23, 2015 Your best bet is to call into support for a manual FW update, if the auto update is failing. If you have another computer, you can try using that machine to update the FW. https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp
Fcirivello
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the utility engine to see if i could get it to work. and i took a chance and updated to 1.33 again. The utility said it was successful after about 1 minute of being dead again I regaind the partial control i had to start with before the update. and it is showing once again that it is firmware version 0.11 Now I'm really confused. Doesnt sound like it updated successfully then. Normally if it fails, it will revert back to the previous version of the firmware.
